“You are what you repeatedly do” –Aristotle
Habits form the fabric of our lives.
Religious brothers and sisters wear an outer garment called a habit. The habit is the covering, the outer shield which guards the inner life.
What are the habits that make up the fabric of my life?
The pattern of my life is defined by what I consistently bring my attention to.
Where does my attention gravitate?
“But where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
It takes consistent intention to turn away from things that distract, confuse and drain.
Do I give my energy and attention to that which is negative and destructive to my spirit?
What unsettles my spirit? What leads my heart away from truth and love into illusion and fear?
All inputs are forms of In-formation, inner formation.
Simply being mindful of the forces that push and pull our spirit makes us more conscious. To be conscious is to be in an awakened state.
“Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23
